My character is based off a Morepork so I have placed my creature in the tree. My creature drops onto the branch looks around then jumps away. I will use the squash and stretch for landing and leaving the branch.
When the head is moving I plan to make it similar to a Morepork and be quite quick and twitchy.
My creature is currently unrigged so movement is very stiff and I am still working on the physics of the cape. I tried to rig my creature in Maya but I couldn’t get the file to import/export correctly from Blender to Maya so something I still need to work on.
Next step is to film either myself or someone jumping up and down to see what muscles are used and work it into the rig. I will also look for some footage online of a owl/morepork looking around to get the mannerism right.
