Polly Collective is a successful business created by Sheree McCready who like my cousin Madi, creates polymer clay earrings. She has built a successful business with a following of 24.9k followers on Instagram (@pollycollective) and an up and running website off which, she sells her earrings internationally. Sheree, as well as designing and selling polymer clay earrings also designs and sells a range of tools and cutters that can be used to cut and mold the clay into shapes. Which allow quick easy ways to transform design’s on paper into real life polymer clay creations, perfect for beginners of the craft. Sheree as well as earrings also creates a range of polymer clay necklaces, all of which are carefully crafted and beautifully designed.

Sheree is able to reach many different audiences through her Instagram. One of her key focuses is reaching people with worries and concerns for the planet, she often talks about the plastic usage involved in creating with polymer clay and encourages “mindful making, making with real intention, zero to minimal waste with polymer clay, understanding ways to use every little scrap, avoiding waste by planning.” -instagram.com @pollycollective The post reaching approximately 120 instagram accounts By posting about topics like these and showing her interest in the planet by encouraging other creators to “mindful [make]” Sheree is able to reach a larger audience. Those who think more carefully about wastage, what the buy and how this affects the planet as well as those who aren’t as concerned.
I believe this is a great way to grow a community and to widen your audience. I definitely think Madi should look into more ethical ways of creating in order to grow a larger audience and benefit the planet in the process.

Sheree also runs classes and shares other creators works on her feed in order to reach more people and to help fellow creators grow. I think this is a smart and wonderful way to support other artists while growing your own account. As if your sharing about someone’s work, they are going to be more likely to share and talk about yours to their community and followers. By creating classes to share techniques with others their going to be more likely to recommend your designs which also benefits and helps grow your community and followers, which in turn hopefully grows your purchases.
It’s a great way of making friends within the polymer community and I think it would be a brilliant way for my cousin Madi to grow and audience and get more involved and more known amongst other creators in this field.

I believe Sheree has a really amazing set of strategies in order to reach a range of target audiences, as well as really great communication strategies which allow her to reach far and wide and resonate with a wider audience.
I think these ideas on communication and strategies to reach different target audiences are brilliant ideas Madi could use to grow her own audience and help to build her new business.
