I’ve loved taking Lens-based media and learning about photography this year. It’s been alot of fun practicing and learning new techniques of how to take photos manually and editing the photos I take on photoshop afterwards.
I took these photos for my self directed learning in Lens-based media. Their of my friends eye. I used a canon 700 camera and a macro lens in order to get close to her iris.
I edited the first image on photoshop by adding extra vibrance and autoing the tone and contrast of my photo. I did this in order to brighten and deepen the colour of my friends iris. I wanted to colour to pop and really stand out which I believe I accomplished with my editing on photoshop.
The second image I used to experiment with black and white editing. I’m really happy with how the final edit of this image turned out.
I’ve always loved eyes, how everyone’s irises are different, the unique hues and detailing. I really like the saying “the eyes are the window to the soul.” Which is why I decided to label these pieces of art ‘Window to the soul.’
