Overall I have really enjoyed the course and feel like I have learnt a lot and the projects were really interesting and fun.
I have really enjoyed learning about the particular themes per week. I was really looking forward to style guides unit- so that was a good incentive to get there :).
The unit I found the hardest was probably copywriting, I think I just need more practice. Perhaps more guidance on this topic could be beneficial?
However, I really struggled with the timing. My own fault but because there was no reminders or conversations I felt like I kept pushing it back because I wanted to make it perfect. This is a good lesson for me to become more self motivated.
I also felt really lost a lot of the time. I think if there was more conversation within the class and available class time to chat to the tutor it would have helped. I felt like I waited to get a response a lot, and really felt on my own the whole way through. I didn’t receive any feedback on my first assignment so have no idea how I am going or how to improve for the others. Also, I found the discussion forum section completely confusing.
I have recently studied with another online provider and they had some aspects that I think would help the future students. The tutor sent out a weekly email about where we should be up to, and times they were available to chat online if they had any questions. Also, on Moodle it would be great if there is some way to see what units are complete and how far through the course we are, that would have helped me a lot.
But aside those points, I have loved this paper and feel so much more confident as a designer now and that was my aim going in. I loved the content and thought each lesson was really interesting and fun. Overall the course was wonderful, I only wish I got a little more guidance along the way. I would be grateful for some feedback on my final hand in so I know how to improve as a designer and make my work better :).
