Project Maitai

For my NMIT Communication Seminar Presentation, I am choosing to promote Project Maitai, a local Nelson City Council project. The aim of this project is to improve the health of Nelson’s Maitai River and all of its tributaries, therefore allowing Nelsonians to swim in and take kai from it. This river has been a “source of water, food and fun for Nelsonians of all ages and stages” for a long time, so it’s important that we keep its beauty and environmental health intact.

Through researching and promoting this project I want to educate the audience and myself on this matter and how we can play a part in helping keep Nelson’s main river “clean, clear and flowing”. We all need to put in a little effort to help keep our country beautiful, because it won’t be for much longer if we keep our bad environmental habits up.
