I just thought I’d add in some research so I have something to refer to later.
In the 1960’s Taihape was at it’s peak as the main railway hub for the surrounding farming communities. Majority of its economic activity revolved around the railway lines and the surrounding rural communities. I thought this was interesting as I had only ever thought Taihape was known for the gumboot.
A dairy (incorporate cows into the logo) company was also established in Taihape in 1904.
I have attached a little plan I did quickly, just to get any ideas I have out onto paper (so I can’t forget). I couldnt really drawn animals so hopefully the words will suffice.
