This week I did the live trace experiment. I found it interesting how each of the different images traces caused the vectorised image to turn out differently.
I started by using the default image trace and that grasped all of the black images very precisely and removed any of the colour. For the second try I used shades of grey. This kept all of the black but changed the colours into different shades of grey. It is interesting to see how the colours were interpreted in grey scale. For the third try I used the 3 colour image trace. This kept three of the colours and turned the gradient into 3 colours. For my fourth try I used the 16 colour image trace, this kept the black and changed the gradient in the background into 5 colours.
I think that being able to convert your design to vectors is very important because if your client wants their logo to be place onto a business card or a billboard you will be able to blow their logo up without worry of pixelation.
