I have started messing around with different types of foxes. I have gotten some reference photos from unsplash.com. I have found that working in illustrator for the geometric style is a lot easier and more practical for me. I do believe though, that if you are able to put your ideas onto paper with thumbnails it is a lot easier to come up with solid concepts for logo designs.
I have attached a photo below of some of the geometric foxes I have come up with. I have sent these through to my client and I will see what feedback she has and what things I can change to make the logo suit her business.
I really like the outer shape of the top design but I prefer the head of the bottom design. The top design has a harsher and sharper design where as the bottom design has a smoother face design. I think that the 3rd design kind of looks more like a cat than a fox.
I have been really enjoying this logo design because my client has come to me with a solid concept and she knows what she wants and what she doesn’t want. I like doing the geometric designs because nothing has to be perfect and it doesn’t have to be super realistic (not the style I am going for anyway).
I have also been looking into adding scissors into my logo. It makes it a lot more obvious as to what the business is without the text, I do like the way it looks but I think it kind of looks a bit compact.
