#CGI505 3D Camera Tracking with Adobe After Effects

Today we experimented with 3D camera tracking in After Effects as well as masking and adding objects to a tracked environment to move as if it were in the world.

I chose a simple clip of approaching and going up a small flight of stairs and tracked some text onto the steps, I also experimented with drop shadow on the text, the first text that appears has a regular ‘Drop Shadow’ effect where the second text that appears has been duplicated and rotated in 3D space then a blur effect was added and I eye-dropped a shadow color from another part of the frame to try get the effect of a shadow.

It’s nothing fancy but I am definitely becoming more comfortable with after effects.
