Comparative Research – Sam Johnson & Rikki Poynter
The two people I am going to compare in this communication exercise is Sam Johnson, the creator of The Student Volunteer Academy based in Christchurch NZ, and Rikki Poynter based in America, is the creator of #NoMoreCRAPtions. Rikki Poynter
Rikki Poynter is a YouTuber I have been subscribed to and have been following for roughly three years. In total, Rikki’s YouTube channel has just hit three million views and her most popular video has over 530,000. She is deaf and also suffers other chronic health issues that she covers on her channel. She talks about these subjects in her YouTube videos and in her travels all over America. She liked to draw, paint and sew – she used to cut up old clothes from opp shops and make them in to clothes for her Pippa dolls, then later started making clothes for her…

Discovering Arbus
DISCOVERING ARBUS A short article by Stella Wilson. NMIT 2018. Arbus was a photographer based in New York City (NYC) who took photos in the nineteen sixties and seventies. Arbus is mostly known for her very quirky perception of the world, rather than for how she was perceived by others. Her photographs were not necessarily flattering of her subjects. In fact they were often quite exposing or aesthetically un-pleasing and were sometimes even considered offensive. Lisette Model who was Arbus’s teacher and early influence, was unsure if she should release such controversial content. Why…
